Government Relations Committee Member

Help shape and support NYSANA’s advocacy work across New York. GRC members advise the Committee Chair, bring perspective from their region and practice environment, and help turn statewide advocacy priorities into local action.

Members are expected to have prior experience meeting with lawmakers or commit to participating in legislative meetings during the coming year. NYSANA will seek a committee that reflects diverse geographic areas, practice settings and professional perspectives across the state.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in monthly evening GRC meetings during the legislative session.

  • Advise the GRC Chair on legislative strategy, member engagement and emerging issues.

  • Build relationships with lawmakers and participate in legislative meetings as needed.

  • Help identify and activate CRNAs in your region when local outreach is needed.

  • Attend legislative fundraisers or other advocacy events in your area when appropriate.

  • Share local intelligence, relationships and opportunities that may help advance NYSANA’s priorities.

We’re looking for: CRNAs who are engaged, reliable and interested in helping move advocacy work forward. Prior legislative experience is valuable, but members who are ready to become actively involved and meet with lawmakers this year are also encouraged to apply.

Estimated commitment: Approximately 3 hours per month during the legislative session, with lighter activity outside of session. Additional time may be needed for legislative meetings, fundraisers or local advocacy activities.
